Taijiform according to Grandmaster Yang Chengfu

Presented by Master Jan Silberstorff

In my early years, I did not only Chen style Taijiquan but also Yang style Taijiquan. And I did it for eight years until I met my shifu, Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang. His Taijiquan has such deep meditation on one side and such strong fajin on the other that his Taijiquan fits everything I need to this day and for the rest of my life.

Nevertheless, I have never forgotten my Yang style. Unfortunately, in the Taiji scene there is a lot of arguing back and forth between different styles and dialects. So today, although I am known as a Chen style master in recognized generational order, I would also like to show my Yang style once to remind us all that we belong to one family, the Taiji family.

My Yang style is based on my recent studies of Grandmaster Yang Chengfu's material in its original Chinese. My teachers in the 1980s and early 1990s were Grandmasters Sui Qingbo and Yang Zhenhe.

Thanks for watching and please forgive my mistakes.
