Over the course of three days, some of our young athletes from the ‘Associação Ilha das Crianças’ had the opportunity to take part in the development training programme run by the ASSAMACA Judo Association in Castro Alves and Cruz das Almas – a special experience that has further strengthened our partnership with ASSAMACA.

Accompanied by our Sensei Maria Britto, who runs the judo programme on the island of Itaparica, the children were able to enjoy a few valuable days of learning, discipline and interaction with renowned senseis from all over Brazil. For many of them, it was a formative experience that went far beyond sport.

A truly special moment was the belt presentation ceremony in the Cruz das Almas Town Council Chamber: our athletes had the honour of receiving their new belts in person from Sensei João Derly (@joaoderly), a two-time world champion – an unforgettable moment filled with pride and motivation.

At ‘Associação Ilha das Crianças’, we firmly believe in the power of judo as a tool for education, instilling values and social development. Experiences like this demonstrate just how important strong partnerships are in opening up new horizons for our children.
