As our teacher Sasa Krauter announced last year, the monthly Push Hands Sunday program in Karlsruhe is being expanded, and guest instructors will be regularly invited to lead Taijiquan Tuishou (Push Hands) seminars. Following last year’s fantastic kickoff with Vera-Dorothea Neumann and Kai Flagge, we’ve been able to secure Talia Kav and Marius Leszkiewicz for this year.
The focus is on the “13 Basic Techniques of Taijiquan”.
This seminar focuses on teaching a sequence of movements based on the “13 Energies” of Taijiquan: the “Eight Gates” and the “Five Steps.”
In addition to the meaning of the Chinese terms, the seminar focuses on understanding the underlying principles. We explore the driving forces behind the movements—both in form and in application. The seminar is rounded out by insights into the philosophical dimension and the application of these principles to everyday life and self-defense.
Talia Kav
She has been deeply rooted in the world of Chinese martial arts and movement arts for over three decades. Her journey took her directly to China after studying East Asian Studies: In Chenjiagou, as a student of Chen Bing, she was appointed the official lineage holder of Chen Taijiquan. Fluent in the language and deeply at home in the culture, she bridges the gap between ancient Eastern philosophy and modern Western practice. Today, together with Marius, she shares this experience with everyone who wants to cultivate strength and bring peace to their mind.
Marius Leszkiewicz
He has been immersed in Asian martial arts since childhood. His journey took him from Wun Hop Kuen Do Kung Fu (5th Master Degree) all the way to the source in China: In Chenjiagou, as a student of Chen Bing, he was also officially designated as a lineage holder of Chen Taijiquan. Today, together with Talia, he shares this profound experience in a down-to-earth way—for everyone who wants to learn Taiji and find their inner balance.
